I coordinate a local food club in my community, and today at pickup, one of our local farmers delivered the largest chicken eggs I have ever seen! Â Â
They are absolutely beautiful! Â Â
What’s more, the eggs are soy free and very reasonably priced! Â
I’m glad I bought 5 dozen, but I have a feeling they won’t last the 2 weeks until the next pickup.
When I got home, there was no doubt that lunch would consist of all things “egg”. Â Â
I made scrambled eggs first and was delighted to see that the yolks were nearly as large as duck egg yolks! Â
My egg pan was completely full scrambling only 4 of these eggs. Â
Phenomenal.
My next task was to quickly cook up some boiled eggs for snacks.
I got to thinking that some of you out there may be struggling with peeling them, just like I did for the longest time.
The one-minute clip below demonstrates how to peel a boiled egg without really peeling it.
I hope you find this sensational tip for easily and quickly peeling boiled eggs as helpful as I have.

I am going to try this today. We have been having a bear of a time peeling our eggs.

That’s fantastic!!
I personally wouldn’t be TOO worried about the “germs”, seriously…you can’t be SO paranoid about cooties.
You put the baking soda in the BOILING water…I had actually heard this but with salt, and it really DOES work! 🙂 Never tried the blowing method though, looks like fun!

If using baking soda reduces "adherent" then I suspect peeling wouldn't be such a problem, eliminating the need to spit the egg out of it's shell.
Candace, I believe cckull's concern is the germs applied by spitting on the egg AFTER boiling.
Good question… Add the baking soda to boiling water or cooling water?
Margaret
So, do you add the baking soda to the boiling water or to the cooling water?
Candace
CCKull, You've just boiled the egg. I'm certain that the boiling process will remove any "germs" that you may be concerned about.

How do you remove the germs (from your mouth) that get on the egg?

Cool, I didn't know anyone else saw this!
