Over the past several months, I’ve written a number of posts that relate to a healthy pregnancy and babies. I thought it would be beneficial to put the links for all these posts together in one place so they are easy to locate and refer to.

Wonderful blog! I found it while browsing on Yahoo News.
Do you have any suggestions on how to get listed in Yahoo
News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem
to get there! Many thanks

Yes, I too am interested in what you should eat while pregnant, would love to know more about this! Especially how to get all the vitamins/supplements you should get and what extra supplements to take, like the FCLO for instance.

Hello Sarah,
Could You write something on the ideal diet a woman should have while pregnant? Also, foods which help regulate a woman’s menstrual and hormonal cycle? Problems in this area seem so rampant!

Tamara, your words of encouragement are greatly appreciated! Enjoy your adventure in Brazil and your new career as a labor doula!

Sarah,
I discovered your website today and am in love with your posts and even your responses to readers’ queries. I discovered the book “Nourishing Traditions” recently and am new to eating real, whole foods (my middle pregnancy was fueled by V8 and PopTarts while I worked full-time). I am currently living in Brasil where it is much easier to eat real food — the packaged stuff here will make you sick — but before marrying my Brazilian husband, I didn’t even know how to pick ripe fruit at the grocery store!
I’m posting here on the pregnancy & baby page because I have three children and also am beginning work as a labor doula; I don’t know much about nutrition yet but am well-researched in birth and babies, and I can attest that the info you have here so far is fantastic!
Thanks so much for your work on this website!

Hi Anonymous, my Dad is a retired MD and he used to always say that lack of appetite in a child who is not being fed too much sugar, juice etc would be likely caused by a lack of thiamine which is a B vitamin and very strongly linked with appetite. My guess is that your son's gut is not optimally balanced as B vitamins are synthesized in the gut by beneficial bacteria when all is going well in there. If it were my child, I would try a probiotic and perhaps some supplemental B vitamins in the form of nutritional yeast (Frontier is a good, low heat dried brand). You could mix in some of the yeast with a bit of plain yogurt that is blended with a banana and see if he would take it this way. Good luck!

Hello Sarah,
The issue I have with my son, 16 months old, is that while we are very much into the WAP diet, he's a very picky eater! He refuses most, if not all, the things I try to offer him… lately, he's even stopped eating egg yolk. He won't drink raw milk (maybe a sip at most), eat butter, and has recently left his favorite food, Avocado as well. What do you suggest for picky eaters? The more I read about people feeding their little ones these great whole foods, I see that their little ones eat enjoyably but my son won't eat anything! Although he is not chubby or plump, he is EXTREMELY energetic and active! I mean, he looks and feels healthy to me, he's a happy baby, but … doesn't seem to like food very much… believe it or not, doesn't even like junk food either! So I believe it's not to do what he is being fed, he just doesn't prefer anything. Have you dealt or seen anything like this? Any suggestions?
