Fry up the bacon. Nurse the baby. Set the yogurt. Wait…wait – heal an ear infection, too?
Yes!
Just another day in the life of an Action Hero!
The next time your little one is faced with a painful ear infection, step up and become the family hero. Follow the guidelines below and have the following homeopathic remedies on hand.
Then, take action!
For over 200 years, homeopathic remedies have been shown to alleviate pain and bring healing gently and resolutely….without harsh drugs. Even over the counter drugs are dangerous. Most parents don’t realize that Tylenol is strongly associated with the development of asthma even when used only once a year!
Use homeopathy instead. This is the arsenal of champions.
When choosing a remedy for an ear infection, base your ear infection natural remedy choice as closely as you can on the symptoms your child is experiencing. Do this by matching the totality of the symptoms to one of the following remedies. Once you’ve selected the best match, stick with it for up to four doses. As soon as you see improvement (this can often mean the child simply falls asleep or is content again), then stop the remedy. Resume if pain or other symptoms return. This could happen within hours or even a few days.
Ear infection natural remedies may be repeated every 2-3 hours. The determining factor is the intensity of the symptoms. That is, the more painful the symptoms, the more frequently the administration of the remedy. And don’t worry: these remedies are not only effective but safe even when used frequently.
One tip, however. Do not use these therapies with ear candling as this is an ineffective treatment.
Ear Infection Natural Remedies
1) Belladonna 30 …Think of Belladonna for the early stages of an earache when the symptoms come on quickly, with fury, and the child is overwhelmed by the pain. Another good clue is the distinct color associated with Belladonna: red. The exterior of the ear, as well as the eardrum, might be red.
You may want to purchase your own otoscope if you have enough children and painful ears to justify the expense. I had planned to purchase one with my first child, but because I used homeopathy instead of antibiotics for the first infection he had, I never had to remedy an infection again. That’s how effective these remedies can be.
Homeopathy doesn’t just resolve the infection at hand but encourages the body to protect from subsequent ones.
2) Pulsatilla 30 … The choice in using this remedy is often based on the child’s demeanor, not only during the infection but also in times of health. This is the pitiful little child who wants……no…demands, Mom’s attention. If that attention can be obtained, then the pain and overall illness are somewhat comforted. But oh, if the child can’t get the love she requires, she suffers greatly! I say “she” because more often than not this remedy is suited to girls.
Another fascinating feature of this remedy is that the child who needs it adores ice cream and eating it often causes problems. Ice cream at a birthday party on Saturday can sometimes result in an otitis media on Sunday. Many a parent is impressed with my questions regarding ice cream and exclaims, “How did you know that?”
You just need to know your ear infection remedies and suddenly all the pieces fit together.
3) Chamomilla 30 …Your child’s mood is a huge factor in choosing this remedy, more so than the particular physical symptoms. The child will be extremely irritable, very demanding, and overly sensitive. Sensitivity to pain is extreme and resented.
Most superheroes are uber observant, and that’s what you need to be in order to use homeopathy successfully. So, watch for symptoms of teething.
Chamomilla is the remedy of choice when there’s an ear infection that accompanies teething. The ear pain comes on slowly, but it’s severe and often, warmth is much appreciated. A warm drink, a warm wrap around the ear, even warm olive oil dripped in the ear are all quite comforting. The nose is sometimes watery, but your choice of this remedy will be confirmed more with the mood of the child than his runny nose.
4) Silica 30 … This is a good remedy for ear infections that occur during the later stages of a cold. The child whimpers mildly and is physically weak with fatigue. This may be a matter of course for this child, or only during the illness. When the child needs Silica, the ear pain is intense, but not as extreme as with a Chamomilla child. The pain usually begins at night and starts behind the ear. Noise is particularly irritating even though there’s a stuffed up sensation. Pus may form in the ear and you might see drainage. You might also notice that the nose drains, too.
I wish I had more space in which to give you all the ear infection natural remedies that can be considered. But, with these four, I hope I have launched you forward to become the conqueror of family illness.
Get yourself armed for any bad guys that lurk in your world. Then step up and protect your family along with the millions of other supermoms.

I’m new to these treatments, do you apply to the ear through a dropper? Please advise, as I believe my child has an ear infection and need help for him quick. Thank you

My Chiropractor just treated me for an ear infection. He told me that recent studies/research showed that treatment with antibiotics for an ear infection was no better in recovery time than using nothing at all. My infection was causing me major dizzy spells. He had me make a ratio of 10 to 2 – olive oil to tea tree essential oil. Heat slightly before putting in each ear follow with cotton before bed . Was cleared up in 4 days! To clarify: 40 drops of tea tree essential oil and 200 drops of olive oil. Put in small dropper jar. Place jar in hot water for 30 secs or so til warmed. It worked really wel!

How much did you put in your ear? Or did you just fill up your entire ear canal? I’ve been having dizziness with ear pain too. I can tolerate the pain, but the dizziness is hard.

Man! I feel sad for kids that get earaches frequently I never had them growing up but I am 30 and have had the most painful earache for the past 3 days. Since day one I have been using garlic oil with mullein and st johns wort and it has not cleared it up for me. I am desperate to get better – it is incredibly painful. I will have to try more of these suggestions…

My baby (17 month old) had cleft of soft palate and for this reason she has water in her ears. We had tubes in both ears put in her ear drums when palate was fixed, but they fell out very quickly and water was still there. The other ear drained out in two months after doctor’s check up, I guess because we asked chiropractor to do her years to help to drain water out, but it did not work on the left side. Doc was happy to see one ear is good now and gave us another 2 months to see if the left side gets better or we have to do another surgery to put a tube in. I am trying hard to avoid it. I started her on Pulsatilla 30 2 times a day and Kali Mur. 6X 3 times a day yesterday. She slept well last night and seams started respond to quite sounds today and repeating sound after me (I hope it is not my imagination). She also had chiropractic adjustment last weekend and he said that he felt bones popped in place the first time. She eats mostly meat, fish, chicken, eggs, few fruits, soups and drinks broth. I still breast feed her. I removed raw dairy for couple of months, but as I said before she still had left ear full of water with no changes. She never had infection though. Her doctors can’t believe that we so far avoided it and they think it was my breast milk, but I think it’s Traditional diet I started after her birth.
I would really appreciate any suggestions on what I could do to make sure that water is out of her left ear. She rubs her ear and sticks her finger into it. For a month she was up several times every night crying, but she did not have any signs of ear infection or cold. She would rub her ears and cry. I guess, her right ear was relieved by chiropractor and she started sleeping better, but she still complained about left side. Last night she slept till morning and I hope it’s because homeopathy works, but during the day and before bed she was playing with her ear again sticking her finger in it and rubbing behind it.

Though this isn’t exactly homeopathic….a remedy my family uses and I’ve shared with dozens….Children’s nose drops. Lay the child on the bed on his/her back with their head slightly down on the side. Put a couple of drops in the nose and wait for just a couple of minutes and it’s done, and the infection will never return. This clears the ear from the other end which clogs from the child sniffing. This work 100% of the time and you never have to do it again.
