Dr. David Carpenter MD, a graduate of Harvard Medical School and a physician who has worked in the area of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and public health for over 18 years, has a few choice words for power companies that are forcing smart meters down the throats of their customers all over the United States.
Dr. Carpenter adamantly insists that there is no evidence whatsoever that smart meters are in any way safe for human beings. Â He goes on to say that there is, in fact, ample evidence that demonstrates “convincingly and consistently” that exposure to radiofrequency radiation (RFR) at elevated levels for long periods of time increases the risk of cancer, damages the nervous system, and adversely affects the reproductive organs.
Dr. Carpenter says that an informed person should demand that they be allowed to keep their analog meter.

If you are having smart meters forced upon you where you live, know that California power customers have recently won the battle to keep their analog meters. Â There is both an annual and monthly charge for this “inconvenience” to the power utilities, but at least customers now have a choice to opt out where they did not before.
This precedent for opting out in California should make it easier for others with smart meters who don’t want them in other areas of the United States to be able to get their analog meters back as well.
While smart meters reduce workload and increase profitability for the power companies, they do so at the expense of the health of their customers. Â Opting out is the only “smart” way to deal with this corporate incursion.

Can’t Get Rid of Your Smart Meter Right Now?
If you live in a rental property or cannot afford to pay the extortion fee charged by utility companies to remove your smart meter and reinstall an analog, I would recommend getting a device called a Smart Meter Guard (check it out here).
It has been proven to cut 98% of the radiation from a smart meter! Better yet, the power company won’t balk if you use it as long as you don’t break the security seal (don’t EVER do this!). This article has no “evidence” and doesn’t even cite evidence. The tone of the post clearly is not to report but to distort. I’m not convinced.
Is this only for homes or apartments too!? I’ve seen the electric company out in my apartment complex a lot this week.
By comparison – the EMFs emitted from the smart meter – Is it equal to say- a power-line? Idk? I have one(smart meter)… So I’m trying to wrap my head around what it’s going to do to my family… We spend the whole day at home – everyday?!?
Do you have any suggestions for lowering the EMF’s for those of us who don’t have the option to opt-out of using smart meters? Salt Rock Lamps, maybe? AEP Ohio does not allow their customers to opt-out at this time…. hoping that will change, but it hasn’t yet. Thanks Sarah!
I would like to know how to tell if you have a smart meter! Is it solely the presence of a digital display? I have a small water meter that has an electrical cord running from it into the floor of my laundry room. I was told it is a smart meter…..
We do not have a smart meter on our electric box but we do have one in our basement for the water, I’ve called and argued round and round to have it taken out. Its right below my daughters room and they said it sends out a signal every 15 seconds, 24/7! They will not take it out. They said they don’t even have an old water meter to replace it with. I feel helpless and stuck to get this out of my home. I’ve seriously thought about covering it with something that will disrupt the signal so they think its broken and than refusing to let them in my house to fix it. would that force them to put a (hopefully) analog meter back outside my house? Or could they take legal action to get in my house to tend to the meter? I’m assuming utility companies do NOT have an easement for INSIDE your home. Any advice or anyone who knows the legality of this please share!

I have put a lock and a sign on my electric meter. However, I found that they had put a smart meter on my gas meter. live in Wichita, Kansas. Have called them to tell them to remove it and they will not comply. Need to know how to handle this in a safe way.
