The expansion of Medical Fascism in the United States continues unabated.
Just a few days ago, Kristen LaBrie, the loving, caring mother of a severely autistic boy suffering from non-Hodgkins lymphoma, received the shockingly brutal sentence of 8-10 years for withholding chemo meds from her son because she could not bear the pain and suffering the side effects caused him.
Is this where our society has come? A grieving Mother who made the call to withhold chemo meds out of compassion is convicted of attempted murder?
Prosecutors argued that the cancer that Jeremy suffered from had a “cure” rate of 85-90% under the barbaric, two year treatment plan proposed by his oncologist.
Ms. LaBrie followed doctor’s orders for the majority of the treatment, but failed to follow through in the final months as the side effects made Jeremy so sick she was afraid the meds would kill him in his very fragile state of health.
LaBrie admitted being remorseful for her actions because she missed her son and thinks about him every day. Should she be punished when there is no guarantee that Jeremy would even be alive today if she had administered the chemo meds? Surely her grief is punishment enough?
All this verdict does is ominously send a message to other parents that refusing conventional medical treatment is a FELONY same as if you held a gun to someone’s head.
How insane is that logic?
Ms. LaBrie’s older son Matthew wrote a letter pleading for leniency for his Mother. He described her as “unbelievably kind, caring and devoted” to her autistic son Jeremy. In addition, dozens of letters of support from doctors and nurses with autistic children were submitted to the judge asking for similar leniency.
In the end, the judge refused any such leniency and instead described Ms. LaBrie’s choices as “acts that really do chill one’s soul”.
I’ll tell you what chills my soul – judges who are unable to acknowledge that a parent has the right to choose treatment for his or her sick child as well as the freedom to change direction when a chosen treatment is obviously causing undue pain and distress – whatever the outcome.
Judges have no business playing God and asking “what ifs” in situations such as this no matter what probabilities for “successful” treatment Big Pharma robot oncologists spout on the witness stand.
There is no doubt that Ms. LaBrie has unwittingly become a symbol of the dire need for some sort of Medical Freedom Act in this country. Shackling parents and hauling them away is not the answer.

I am appalled at the lack of rights we are able to retain in this day and age. The average life expectancy of most chemo patients after treatment is 5 years…and this is after much pain, suffering, and time spent with a quality of life that is not what it should be…with, also, no guarantee that your life during this time span is going to be quality either, before you are supposed to die. I am sickened by the insistence from a powerful, corrupt system on using toxic drugs to treat disease that could have been prevented in the first place, in at least some instances (if not many), and the refusal to allow people to make their own decisions about their family members’ and loved ones’ futures. The only way to stop this is to keep fighting and being activists. Thanks for sharing this, Sarah.

Let’s remember our founding fathers sometimes disagreed bitterly on these issues. One thing they did agree on was “individual” not “collective” rights! Please I beg you to get involved in your local government. You may think this woman’s case is unusual. I am telling you, “IT IS NOT!” Parental rights are one important issue but our government is trying under legislation to pass many bills we have attempted to at least slow down. Sure, they put it in a pretty package and with the media make you think that “someone else” is the villan like in this poor woman’s case from Massachusettes. Other legislative concerns are:
Cap and Trade-Smart grid will allow gov direct access (full control) to all electric in your home
Internet Regulation-Net Neutrality to give FCC full internet control..
Healthcare bill-10,000 new IRS agents will have access to your bank records, Head of Medicaid will model English healthcare, which is rationed.
Property Rights
This is just a bit of it guys and gents…I hate to scare anyone, but it is truly reality!

I hope I never have to be put into a situation that any of my child needs chemo because I wouldn’t do it. . It is insane that parents don’t have a choice in deciding what treatment their child needs. I remember reading a few years ago how a natural MD asked his colleagues if they would take chemo and all of them said no. So they push treatments on our children that they wouldn’t do themselves, Natural News were covering a similar story last week.

I ran out of room but wanted to say. I joined a teaparty two years ago and am a Libertarian. Please do not believe the negative things you hear. The elites in Washington in Both parties do not like us because we are making a difference. These people are sooo nice and giving. We are fighting for parental rights which are being swiftly taken away. Progressives have managed to do this slowly so we are not very aware. Homeschoolers are also under attack. Teaparty people who simply want smaller government (for this reason here) are under attack, the family is under attack, Organic farmers are under attack and our healthcare is under attack, your property rights are under attack. We read the healthcare bill and our healthcare choice will be taken away. Please reach out and get involved for your children..Thank you!

All Parents, let this be a severe warning. I myself have a child that is was very medically needy and now much better due to “natural healthy” choices. He spent 3 months in the NICU in Florida and was dying from a aortic block and kidney failure. The doctor Insisted on my child right after surgery having 20, yes 20 shots Before we left the hospital for vaccinations.
I politely refused saying I wanted to wait until he was healthier. He was at that time 3 weeks old. I was promptly pulled into the doctors office and warned that “Your child will not go home until he receives his shots”. Since we were there for a while it gave me a chance to gather my thoughts. Luckily I had the mindset to say that I know my son and I have rights to refuse…He received his Hepatitis B shot at 4 years old and became very ill from Kawasaki disease. It is now proven in the New England Journal of Medicine. My advise to you? Please join a local teaparty!

I was very angered by this story when I read about it yesterday. I’m glad you posted it here and stirred up awareness. Here’s what I’m frustrated with now – what is the ACTION STEP? How do we stand up for this woman and the tragedy that is occurring now? Any ideas?
I wish all media stories and documentaries had links for accessible action steps. We need empowerment.
And as for the abortion “pro life” issue. We’re all pro-life. Can you apply the same values to sending our young people to war? To the death penalty? To providing health coverage? To violent comments in the media which abound? If you really believe in peace and pro-life, you’d believe in it across the board.
Linda
I would like to know why all these pro lifers who are so against abortion think it’s ok to kill the doctors and staff at the abortion clinic.
Marisa
It’s outrageous that you think all pro-lifers condone the murder of abortionists…! That’s certainly not true. That’s an unfair, untrue generalization.

Glad to see someone posted parentalrights.org. They have petitions to sign & links to call your senators to prevent the UN from “trumping” our constitutional rights given as parents through the “Rights of the Child” which Obama supports.
I was shocked when I heard a friend tell me her neighbors son was just diagnosed with leukemia & within hours he was assigned to a social worker who called them stating that he must go through chemo or it’s considered child abuse.
I am looking differently at the news stories that report a mother kidnapping her child from the hospital because she didn’t want him to undergo treatment. And I’m more determined than ever to be a good steward of our children’s health so that, Lord willing, we never have to be in that position. How horrible for these dear parents.

Recalls to mind other trials once held in Salem, Massachussetts…

It chills me to the bone that this can occur 🙁 Do the doctors get jail time for prescribing the meds that make people sick or even kill them????
Sarah, The Healthy Home Economist
EXACTLY! If this mother had continued with the chemo meds and the child had died, would the doctors and Pharmaceutical companies that produce these poisons be charged? NO!
But .. stop the meds and the child dies and the mother gets charged with attempted murder.
Complete idiocy.
Kelli
Thats what I also thought. Conventional med has caused many needless deaths yet they never get in trouble for it.

So true, Sarah. So very sad, and utterly barbaric. Our culture is far less civilized than it pretends to be.
