When I wrote the post about how to heal a cavity, I had no idea that the post would end up being circulated around dental forums where it became the target of ridicule and even anger from a number disbelieving dentists. The fact is that teeth can and do heal, even those in need of a root canal.
Whether or not conventional dentists choose to acknowledge it does not really matter. Holistic dentists know the truth! For example, Dr. Weston A. Price DDS documented many cases of cavities resolving when nutritional deficiencies were corrected in his book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.
While I received many negative emails and comments from dentists (I also received a few positive emails from dentists, I might add), I was also delighted and amazed by stories from Moms just like me who had experiences very similar to my own…tooth problems resolving with nutrition or natural medicine alone!
One of the most interesting emails I received was from a homeopath named Kay, who lives in Australia, coincidentally right near where my husband was raised! Kay wrote me the following story which I thought so fascinating that it absolutely needed to be a guest post:
Homeopathy Instead of a Root Canal
Dear Sarah,
My sister who lives in Hong Kong sent me the link to your site after you wrote an article about butter oil and how it reversed tooth decay when taken along with cod liver oil.
I am a homeopath and teach workshops to parents on how to use natural medicine to raise healthy children, so I was fascinated by this piece of information and it prompted me to share another tooth story with you and your readers about how my son was saved from a root canal at the age of 14 years old by using natural medicine.
Jack had been playing golf with his brother over the school holidays and while hot tired and emotional ( a normal state of affairs for my son at the time), his golf club got stuck in the bag. So, with sheer brute force, he ripped it out of the bag straight into his mouth and broke off the bottom of his front tooth!
We went straight to the dentist who did tests and declared the root was dying and that he needed to do a root canal before the tooth discolored. I told him to remove his drill from my son’s mouth and said I would try and save the tooth with homeopathy. A not very happy dentist told me there was a time and place for homeopathy and this wasn’t it and if there was any remote chance I could save this tooth he would send me all his clients.
I took Jack home and gave him homeopathic Arnica for shock, trauma and bruising. Then, I used homeopathic hypericum, a great remedy every parent should know about as it repairs nerve damage. I gave it to Jack every few hours and then reduced it to 2 x day for the next week. In America I believe you can buy homeopathics in health food stores quite easily, so always have arnica and hypericum in your cupboard for “teeth” accidents.
Today Jack still has his original front tooth with a little cosmetic dentistry to build up the bottom half and the dentist still has not sent me one client!
Thanks for letting me share this story Sarah. Just knowing these small pieces of information can create such better health outcomes for our children and families.

What strength of hypericum? 30 c? 6x 12x? Working on alternate means for root canal now. Taking goldenseal, bone broth, oil pulling and need to cure the sensitivity in the teeth..

Hello,
My partner went for a routing dental check-up. No pain, nothing bothering her about her teeth. The dentist says he found a tooth that needed a filling. So he does the fairly small filling on a small molar near lower front, left side. Then he tells my partner oh this tooth has palpitus, talks about possible tooth removal or root canal. My partner is now in tears, goes home in agony.
Does this make any sense?
Thanks for much needed feedback.

I would suggest a second opinion with a biological dentist. https://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/natural-biological-dentist/

I had a tooth flair up about a year ago. I took hepar sulph 6x. My tooth does not hurt but I have above the tooth a little pocket and it is tender. My dentist said the tooth needs to come out or a root canal. Is there something I can do to get rid of that pocket? I have been to a kinesiologist and found out my body is not getting rid of toxins , could this because of my tooth? I know the teeth have a lot to do with over all health.

It would be great if “readers” who have tried these solutions would come back and report on results. I read a lot of blogs like this and it seems many people that try these solutions are in a perpetual state of limbo – i.e. the pain went away and “I think” it’s better – and then you don’t hear back. Did it heal; eventually get worse so they had to go back to the dentist after all?

I read that Hepar Sulph is good for tooth abscess, reduces pain and swelling and fever..tho I dont have swelling and fever. Could u tell me whether Hypericum is better option for tooth infection than Hear Sulph? I’d really appreciate advice, as I’m trying to avoid root canal at all costs.

I was feeling pain in my jaw bottom tooth. I felt the dentist will say it had to be removed. On my dental visit he xrayed it-said it had loss a lot of gum tissu, was mobile and maybe abcessed so he advisedme to come back for a CTscan and extraction.
I started to do oil pulling; I used a mixture of peppermit -clove and almond oil and rubbed the gumline 2-3 times a day.
Its been 2 weeks now and I cncelled my CT scan. pain is lessen and mobiliy is less. What else can I do to see if I can help the gun tissue to regenerate

Many people find me and ask about the potency I used with my don’s tooth. I used Arnica 200c in the initial stages to remove any bruising and trauma. I then used Hypericum 30 c. In the first few weeks I would have used it 2 x day. I would then have given it once a day and then once every 3 days to once a week.
So an example regime would look something like this. But this is only an example , you need to take into consideration how the tooth feels, especially after you take the remedy.
I recommend you find a local homeopath to take you through the process.
Arnica 200c 1-2 x day for first 4 days
Hypericum 30c 2 x day for 10 days
Hypericum 30 c 1 x day for 2 weeks
Hypericum 3 0 c 1 x every 3-4 days for 2 weeks
Hypericum 30 c 1x week for 4 weeks
Good luck and best outcomes to anyone looking down the barrel of a root canal.

Hi, why do you spit the coconut oil in the trash instead of just in the sink? Thanks
Sarah Pope MGA
I would spit it into the toilet.
Gloria
Please try coconut oil pulling, once or twice a day. Take about 1 table spoon of coconut oil and swish between your teeth for about 10-20min. Spit in trash and rinse. The oil will pull out bacteria and any infections from your teeth/gums. (Important that you do NOT swallow the oil as it will be very toxic after it pulls bacteria from teeth.)
