Warning to all parents who use a homemade baby formula recipe for their children instead of feeding them toxic, GMO laced commercial formula.
DON’T tell a conventionally minded doctor it is made with raw milk else your baby might end up in foster care!
This is the nightmare Alorah Gellerson of Brooklin, Maine is experiencing right now because she made the mistake of telling her doctor about the homemade goats milk formula she proudly and carefully makes for her healthy, happy, three-month-old son Carson.
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) quickly responded when the doctor reported Alorah and that’s when things got messy.
The state came in and threatened to take Carson away and put him in foster care unless Alorah followed DHHS orders to go and have the baby examined by a doctor. Â Unbelievably, DHHS also mandated an overnight hospital stay and a switch back to store-bought GMO commercial formula.
Despite complying with every single DHHS demand, Gellerson, who receives state benefits, is still being harassed with threats of foster care for her son. Â “I hope this all goes away. It’s been so terrible and hard on us. We’re just trying to live our lives and they keep bothering us. I just want it to be all over”, she said.
Tania Allen, Gellerson’s mother added,
It’s so frustrating. She’s a great mom. The baby has a great dad too and they love this baby very much and they would never do anything to hurt him and if we thought the formula was harming him, we would not do that.
DHHS refused to comment and instead directed inquiries to its website for the procedures they follow, one of which is from the USDA which states that goat milk is not recommended for infants because of inadequate quantities of certain vitamins.
Jack Forbush, DO, of The Osteopathic Center for Family Medicine in Hampden, Maine disagrees with the state saying,
I don’t know what’s really driving it other than perhaps some different cultural belief system. I’ve got plenty of kids in my practice that have been given goat’s milk, for example, and they’re growing and developing fine.
The Weston A. Price Foundation concurs with Dr. Forbush’s assessment. Homemade formula from goat or cow milk is much better for baby than commercial formula as this chart listing the nutrients contained in goat milk formula illustrates.
State Violation of Parental Rights Becoming More Common
This is not the first time a parental judgment call regarding the health of a child has landed a parent in hot water with the State. Â This type of violation of basic parental rights is becoming more and more common.
Recall the story of Alex and Anna Nikolayev just a few months ago who had their baby forcibly removed from their home (with the entire assault captured on home video) simply because they took their baby to another hospital for a second opinion regarding their child’s heart condition. In both cases, the children were eventually returned to the parents, but not before much grief and stress were endured by the family.

Nothing like that precious doctor patient confidentiality. Lmao. People need to research and interview their care providers or the state might kidnap your children. These people are not there to help you. They are there to rule you
Bianca Bradley
Patient confidentiality does not cover self harm, you inflicting harm on someone else, or keeping mum about seeing someone being harmed.
However it can’t hurt to turn the doctor into the ethics board on this.

I’m so sorry this mother and child have suffered so much due to the ignorance of the doctor and state of Maine.
My 2 1/2 year old son was born at 29 weeks and in the NICU for 56 days. I began pumping immediately, and was able to provide breast milk for him until he was around 3 months old, when his demand outpaced my supply. We were never able to actually breastfeed either. I gave him my milk through a bottle.
We had been drinking raw milk for 2 years previous to his birth, and I ordered everything I would need for homemade formula while he was still in the NICU… just in case. I knew I would never give him GMO filled commercial formula.
Since he was a preemie, we had to take him to pediatrician visits when he was released from the hospital. Fortunately, we picked a wonderful doctor who never harassed us about not vaccinating. Since I was breastfeeding when we first began seeing her, we let her continue to think that, even after we switched to the raw milk formula, exactly because we wanted to avoid the experience of the mother in this article. At every visit she would exclaim about how well he was doing, how well he was growing, and his awesome development. She would always say, “Keep doing what your doing”. I wanted to tell her so badly how awesome the raw milk formula was, but I kept my mouth shut. As soon as we resolved a low iron issue, with a natural supplement and lots of liver and other real foods high in iron, we quit going. There’s no point in taking a healthy baby or child to a doctor if you’re not going to vaccinate. It’s been about a year since he’s seen her, but I’m so happy to have established a good relationship with a great doctor in case we need her at some point in the future.

Yet another reason to support the Parental Rights Ammendment! Look it up and make a few calls to representatives- it might be your family next!

I live in Maine and can tell you first hand that DHHS here is notorious for seizing children from good loving homes and the protocol seems to be the same every time. Force the parents to feed soy based food and drinks and spend time at the Barbara Bush Children’s hospital. I know of one family that they actually told them the child could not have water to drink because there was no calories in it. They couldn’t feed fruit unless it was in store brought yogurt, jello, or ice cream.

We have become a nation so dumbed down that we cannot rationalize for ourselves…and that includes Drs, social media, etc. and common people are the ones who have retained their “horse ” sense as they have to have common sense to survive. If you think I am too narrow in my view look at the tv programs that make no sense at all…sex personified and that too blatant that it is barely recognized for what it is…I grieve for our country that we cannot see what is happening to us…and it is right b fore our eyes!

This is sad and I think there needs to be a petition started for this mom.

I agree with you. Someone in the family should start an online petition and start sending it around. Get enough signatures and you can embarrass the state officials into backing off. Bureaucrats do not like to have their actions publicly called into question. I get notices to sign these all the time, but at the moment I don’t remember the online location to create one – does anyone else?

Thank you.
Here’s to raw milk, human or other (mammal), from 9 days to 90 years (before and beyond), for all humans!

I’m a licensed registered dietitian with graduate and undergraduate degrees in nutrition. In my peds nutrition practice, I’ve guided many babies, including my own, through safe use of a nourishing homemade goat milk formula, when breastfeeding for whatever reason was not successful or possible, and the commercial options fail. There is nothing wrong with this at all. Moms and babies need good guidance from providers who welcome this choice. Loma Linda University even publishes its goat milk infant formula. I’ve included a recipe for it in two of my books and countless client care plans. Sounds like a misinformed pediatrician has struck again. This strategy has helped so many babies who may have otherwise failed to thrive – believe me, I’ve met those too! As long as the formula is mixed to the correct ratios for the baby’s needs, and the right vitamin supplement is added (especially for goat milk, which lacks folic acid), this can be a great option.

Why not scout out the pediatricians in this town of maine and send them information. That way they are informed. While you are at it, find the DHHS office that supports that town and send them the information about how wrong they are.

I hope this mother sees this: She should contact the HSLDA – Home School Legal Defense Association- they regularly go to bat for parents whose fundamental rights are bein violated. It would be worth a try.
Al Martin
so they give this woman a hard time. Now she brought her child for care to a pediatrician and he reported her. Now wouldn’t you rather a mom like this than the minorities who don’t even bring their baby to the doctor and feed their kids koolaid or purple stuff. Damn this country.
Ivy
I have to ask. What exactly do you mean by “minorities”?
Belle
It’s in the comment….the minorities of people who don’t take their kids to the regular doc.
