I haven’t put up a Comment Spotlight post in awhile, but I received two amazing testimonial emails recently that I absolutely had to share.
I also have a testimonial post of my own which involves the newest addition to our family.
The first testimony comes from Joyce who used the fermented cod liver oil and high vitamin butter oil to heal her child’s cavity in a manner similar to what I did last year. Here’s Joyce’s email:
IÂ i
mmediately held the book “Cure Tooth Decay” at my local library and read it. It was fascinating to read and realize that you can remineralize your teeth through nutrition.  I was so excited to try it.ÂI finished the book and ordered Green Pastures Fermented Cod Liver Oil/Butter Oil Blend and High Vitamin Butter Oil giving all the kids a dose every day.Â
Just last week Emily said “Mom, I don’t feel the holes in my teeth anymore; look, it’s white”. I looked and couldn’t believe it-it was white where it was black just months ago. Thank you Sarah for your post which saved my girl from having 2 cavities filled. I will continue the Green Pastures products for my kids along with all the great nutrition information from your website.Â
Thank you for sending your story Joyce!  I hope your story encourages other Moms to try the fermented cod liver oil/butter oil to preserve their children’s tooth health and help repair any damage that is already done.
The second testimonial comes from Mary who used The Milk Cure (raw milk fast) to get off her high blood pressure meds. Here’s what Mary writes:
I’ve got to tell you how happy I am about turning my health around! My sister started on raw milk about a year ago and I said, “no way, bad stuff”.  Well, I started to do some research and our family is now eating better and drinking raw milk!  In fact, I just took some fermented mashed sweet potatoes over to my Mom today.
My blood pressure problems were getting out of hand so I decided I had to do something and do it fast. My blood pressure was up and my knees were bad and I don’t even want to imagine what else may have been wrong with me. When I’m on my blood pressure meds my blood pressure runs about 130 over 80 which is still a bit high.  My blood pressure without the medicine and VERY stressed out is about 150/82. It’s sometimes been as high as 175/98!
I started The Milk Cure on Sunday the 18th of March. My blood pressure medicine was going to need to be refilled for Wednesday the 21st. I decided to let it go and see what happened. By Saturday my blood pressure was measuring 126/76 and got as low as 116/72.…(close to my pre-children pressure). My knees are still sore but I am walking normal again. My left knee inside muscle went out 2 years ago this July. I had almost forgotten how to walk. I lost 12 pounds by the end of the fast on Day 10 and an additional 3 pounds since. I decided to stay off the scale and just keep eating healthy.
The first day I drank my 64 ounces and got hungry through out the day. The second day I only drank about 48 ounces and that’s about where I stayed the rest of the fast. 5 to 6 glasses a day and I was fine. I still drink my milk for breakfast and lunch … about 4 glasses and then a healthy dinner. I am planning to do the fast 2 to 3 days a week from now on.
My husband did the fast and his new jeans are now too big. It is a wonderful thing for him because he almost lives off the milk alone. He is just too busy sometimes and he keeps a couple of gallons at work for the week.
I made sure my doctor knew what was going on with The Milk Cure and what my pressure had been at home. He gave me 130/80 as a number to keep an eye on. He gave me a prescription and said if it goes above that and stays up then I need to take the medicine again but as of now I am off my blood pressure meds!!
Thank you Sarah for the time you give to help us all live healthier lives. I am learning something new almost every day.
Mary, this is quite a story. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know how The Milk Cure has worked so very well for you and your husband in improving your health! Getting off any sort of prescription drugs and using food as your medicine is certainly the optimal way to health!
The final testimonial is about the baby guinea pig named Daisy that made her appearance in our home on Easter morning not quite 2 weeks ago. The day after she arrived, we noticed an infection in one of her eyes. Since raw milk works amazingly well in healing human eye infections like pinkeye, I figured it should work for a guinea pig as well.
I treated Daisy’s infected eye 3 times over a 36 hour period and this cleared up the infection perfectly!  Her other eye ended up infected as well a short time later and I treated that eye the same way.  She has been with us about 10 days now and both her eyes are perfect and she is one happy little camper.
It is the probiotics in the raw milk that combat the infection, so please note that pasteurized milk would not work as a home remedy for pinkeye.
Do you have any testimonials to share? Please encourage us all by telling your story in the comments section.

Check out Carlton Farms if you are in the metro Atlanta area. They have weekly delivery locations set up. Raw milk is for labeled for pets only here in GA. 😉
Also, you could check out Rancho Alegre in Gwinnett County. They have a limited supply though of the milk.

Hey Sarah!
I am 18 years of age, seeking to heal my cavities as well. However, I don’t know if it is possible for me to get raw milk in Georgia, because for some reason it was outlawed. I read online that you can only get raw milk in GA as pet food, and you have to have a license to even do that. I think it is rather odd that the government outlawed something that is possibly nutritional for you…so I am wondering if there is an alternative way to get it.
I plan to get the fermented cod liver oil and butter oil capsules as soon as possible, I have already called my herb shops to see if they have any in stock. I could really use a response on here. I plan to take pictures, periodically over time, to support this method if it actually works. I am not doubting the stories for one bit, because I truly believe it is possible to heal your own teeth; however, I am willing to try this and prove to others that it can work (before I go to the dentist). I could really use your response as to what I should do about the raw cow milk.
Thanks so much!
Pasquale.

Hi Pasquale,
I live in Canada so I cannot comment on Georgia’s laws but you could try looking on www. realmilk.com. There is also a book called Cure Tooth Decay written by a guy who had a similar problem as you.
And I would suggest searching this website and comments for more information.
I hope you have success. ( :

Sarah,
I’ve also had a lot of success with fermented CLO, butter oil and raw milk. After years of visits to the dentist finding cavity after cavity, I began taking the FCLO and butter oil. At all of my subsequent dental visits, they found no decay! This includes a visit while I was 6 months pregnant and my dentist had told me to expect plenty of problems due to being pregnant. Imagine his surprise (and mine!) when he didn’t find any.
Thank you for all of the hard work you do on this blog. It is so important to spread the knowledge of traditional foods and Weston A Price.

It certainly heartening reading these good stories. When one “converts” from conventional nutritional ideas to traditional wisdom (which is sometimes seen as “out there” by conventionalitsts), it can be scary. To see these things gives strength to ones commitment to eat with tradtitional wisdom.
That being said, I’m having such a hard time with cavities (for my self, and my children). We’ve been taking the FCLO blend for months now, plus I’ve switched to pastured butter, ghee, unrefined coconut oil, home made stocks from grassfed beef, grassfed beef and pastured chicken, and eggs from pastured chickens (but fed soy-free in our WI winters). Despite that, I still have a persistent cavity in one of my molars, and my two year old has exposed dentin on her front teeth, not to mention the cavities my older children have. I have even been using coconut oil for oil pulling and mix my own toothpowder. But NOTHING.
In addition to that, my 5 month old is allergic to eggs! I don’t feed him them (yet) but I cannot consume them, and he cannot come into contact with them, or else he develops hives.
Ideas? I’m about out.

I, too, am in the process of healing my cavities with nutrition and homemade toothpaste, and it is a slow process for me as well. Don’t be discouraged! I highly recommend the Cure Tooth Decay book to understand some of the nutritional aspects in depth. There are a couple of different nutritional protocols to follow depending on the severity of your tooth decay.
You are eating really well so far with high-quality meat sources and bone broths, but here are a few additional things you might want to do.
*Limit or completely avoid sweets since these affect the calcium/phosphorus balance in the blood and .
*Add liver/organ meats and fish/shellfish and bone marrow for more minerals.
*Add fermented foods/probiotics to help in digestion — if you’re not digesting well, then even your best efforts can be in vain.
*Drink lots of raw milk with high cream content
Dr. Nagel does suggest going grain-free or limiting grains temporarily depending on the severity of your condition. Hope this helps!

I tried the fermented cod liver oil and butter oil with my daughter’s cavity for 9 months expecting great results. She ate traditionally most of the time. We didn’t go on GAPS, but I did limit her grains and sugars. I’m wondering why it didn’t work for us… any thoughts?

I have really been enjoying this blog over the last two days..reading non-stop. I’ve slowly been trying to move my family to a more traditional diet over the last year or so and just recently started buying raw milk. I love reading about all of the benefits. My fear is that someone could get sick. I have 5 children and a new baby soon to arrive in just a few weeks. My youngest is only 16 months old. He seems to LOVE the raw milk. I’m so scared that one of the children may get sick and I’d never forgive myself. We are in Ga and I found a (small) local farm nearby that sells the raw milk. She has only 3 cows. It’s very convenient for us to p/u the milk weekly. Raw milk here in ga is only for “pet consumption.” I’m not sure about what kinds of tests are done or inspections on this farm. After reading your site and several others, I googled “dangers of raw milk” and read this: http://realrawmilkfacts.com/real-life-stories
Which is making me fearful of allowing my family, especially my youngest child and my very pregnant self, to drink the raw milk. Can you calm my fears? Am I over-reacting? Thanks!

Nothing in life is without risk. Certainly just setting foot in a car and driving down the road is a big one.
You can know that raw milk is one of the safest foods you can consume. Yes, there is a chance you or one of your children might get sick one day but the chance is slim compared to basically every other food out there.
The value nutrition wise to drinking raw milk far far outstrips any small risk however. The people and government agencies who warn against greatly exaggerate the danger.

Hi Sarah,
I just want to add my story though it is a small one. My baby is currently 7 months old. When she was 2 months old I was in constant pain when I moved and eating popcorn was uncomfortable on my teeth. Any food was uncomfortable to eat. Something finally clicked and I asked about the fclo/hvbo capsules being a possible help. You said to order it quickly. Within a week of taking 4 capsules my teeth felt much better. 3 weeks of taking them and I had freedom from pain when I moved! I used up the capsules and have now been taking the liquid (thank you for that video as well!). I am up to one and one quarter teaspoons fclo and 1/4 teaspoon butter oil. I have no discomfort at all now when I eat. I am a big believer in fclo and hvbo! Thank you for the council.
Kat
Thank you Sarah for both of these amazing testimonies. So far our son has had no cavities, but it’s nice to know that there is another way to go besides the traditional “drill and fill” method. We do have options.

My spouse and I absolutely love your blog and find almost all of your post’s to be exactly I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write content in your case? I wouldn’t mind writing a post or elaborating on a lot of the subjects you write in relation to here. Again, awesome blog!
Sarah, TheHealthyHomeEconomist
Hi Robert, yes I always am willing to accept guest posts. Any recipes must be real food recipes and other topics must be well written and well researched and a subject area my readership would find interest in. If you want to check with me first about potential subject, that is great. Warning: If I have to do too much editing to a submission there is slim chance it will get posted so please submit good quality writing that has been reviewed for typos, etc. 🙂
