Day 3 of The Milk Cure! The rubber is meeting the road now.
What’s your story and how is your raw milk fast going? We all want to know so be sure to share your observations in the comment section.
Paula: Good morning Vietnam! Superwoman here! I slept amazing and feel like I got infused by the energizer bunny. I may have caught up on some much-needed rest or is it the fast at work? One of my clients commented that cow was on to something.
I did see my chiro for an adjustment yesterday and he does do acupuncture, however, I have been seeing him every 2-3 months for 6 years and while my body usually feels more aligned after treatment, this is not a typical reaction.
My energy continued to be excellent all day long and it was a long day all around. More computer issues, worked from 5:30 am until 9 pm about 3 hours longer than usual but energy remained high. Digestion/elimination continues to be great. I did notice a slightly different body odor, almost sweet. Urine smelled stronger. Increasing amount of milk each day until weight stabilizes. Weighed in at 117 pounds and consumed 15 cups today.
Richard: Got up at 5 am and felt great. Drank 5 cups of milk throughout the day and this was plenty to keep hunger at bay. Also sipped herbal tea and homemade kombucha when thirsty.
Went on a mile-long walk and had plenty of energy to spare.
Having no issues whatsoever. Feel absolutely awesome.
Sarah: Still had a mild headache after waking this morning. Nothing severe, just a tightness around my forehead area. Had a cup of rooibos (red) tea and started drinking milk about 8 am. Headache disappeared by 9 am.
Made organic popcorn on the stovetop for the kids as a snack and it was tough to take – it smelled so good especially after melting coconut oil and sprinkling the sea salt on top! Oh my, how I wanted to stuff a handful or two into my mouth!
Around noontime, I started to feel nothing short of totally amazing. Could I possibly be over the hump and my body has now cleansed a bit and adjusted to the raw milk diet?
Perhaps the long hike in the heat yesterday helped me sweat out a bunch of toxins.
Making dinner for the kids wasn’t a problem today. I didn’t feel overly hungry and didn’t need a bite of raw gouda at any time to keep me going.
I have no idea how much milk I drank today. I just drank when I wanted to and didn’t when I didn’t feel hungry. I’m guessing around 3 quarts but can’t be sure.
Weighed myself at the supermarket and have lost 3/4 of a pound. Not enough to be concerned about and not enough to drop out of the fast.
Took a magnesium salts bath around 8 pm to encourage more detoxing as well as relaxation.
Richard and I both really wanted to see the sci-fi movie “In Time” which just came out on DVD, so stayed up late watching that even though I probably should have gone to bed earlier as I did not sleep very well the first two nights of the fast.
Am absolutely shocked that I’ve finished 3 days of this fast so far. I’m thinking I might just finish this thing but still a long way to go.

Good job! I did a 7 day juice fast last summer. Hardest/best thing i’ve done with food…

I haven’t been hungry at all. It been painful to fix meals for my family and watch them eat, but as far as hunger cravings, there haven’t been any. Had a slight headache yesterday but it went away. Going through this milk pretty quickly though!!

Day 4. I am having issues with acid indigestion, yesterday afternoon and evening of day 3. Was very loose/hard when I eliminated(TMI). Energy was low and I felt restless and bored(this is the Pacific Northwest and has been cloudy and rainy for weeks) and napped almost 2 hrs in afternoon(never do this). I had a restless nights sleep.
I woke up with my stomach feeling okay, drank a glass of water and now my stomach feels a bit queasy. I have left my milk out to get to room temperature, which I have not done before. I am going to pick up chamomile for tea and make raw yogurt and kefir, but it will take 24 hrs for them to be edible and I am also going to buy hydrochloric acid. Hopefully, I am just detoxing, I don’t want to give up! The longest I have ever gone with a no food fast is 24 hrs. so this is great.
My face looks smoother, more relaxed, and not so inflamed where I have broken veins on my cheeks. Will weight myself later today, but I feel lighter.
Kathy
Thanks Jacinda! I only made kefir once and as I recall I let it sit out too long(my low carb thing)and it was inedible…too sour. I forgot you don’t have to heat it. Super!

I was on day 4 yesterday and was worried i was doing more harm then good becuz of constipation and bags under the eyes which i read some where was a sign you weren’t digesting the fat in you diet. I bought an enema system last night and well start up again today. I had been drinking only kefir and beet kvass to help with digestion. I’m going to try to leave it out for a bit before drinking it and hope that helps.
I do feel cold all the time, other wise pretty much the same.

thanks so much!

Makes sense – the milk is warm when it comes out of the cow/goat/animal and their babies drink it warm.
Paula
My money says Sarah finishes this thing:) And btw, that lovely woman chugging the milk is the front of the “beautiful back” post several weeks back. . .

Paula, I am so excited about the plan for breaking the fast next weekend. I won’t tell everyone else just yet … the pictures alone will be absolutely priceless!

Yesterday was day 1 for me. I was satisfied with 8 cups of milk. I thought I’d drink more, and maybe I will today. I was freezing all day and night. I’m jealous of those of you who are sweating at night…I was curled in a ball shivering under flannel sheets, down comforter and several blankets all night. Usually, I tend to be warm-blooded. This morning, I’m having some blood sugar issues and feeling a little shaky. I’m still cold, but not as frigid as I was yesterday.

You might have been running a fever? Sometimes detoxing will cause a bit of a fever. When I get a deep tissue massage (ouch!), I sometimes run a fever for a few hours as I detox all the stuff that got released into the blood. It should hopefully pass.

Where are all the comments. I only see Bruce down here .

This post just got put up a few minutes ago. Not everyone has had a chance to comment yet. See the posts titled The Milk Cure 2012 (Day 1) and The Milk Cure 2012 (Day 2) for lots of comments from the previous 2 days.

Hi, not feeling all that different from normal except for bowel movements. I usually have really regular and easy movements. On day three I started having gas and more painful BM, even had a bit of red on the toliet paper (blood?)
I have enough milk for one more day, may stop at that. Any thoughts?
Tony
Was there any blood in your stool or just on the TP?
If just on the TP I would venture to say……..hemorrhoids. Also color. If the blood is red, it is a fresh bleed from somewhere. If it is dark and brownish red in color it is more than likely and old blood from a bleed that has since stopped.
Monitor and assess how you feel as well as watching what is in the toilet. If there is blood in your stool, go see your MD

I had the same thing happen and it’s from the milk. You need to begin taking something to soften your bowel movements or it will only get worse. I had to stop the fast after day 5 because of the hard stools and the sore bottom! I plan to do it again but will take stool softeners also so I won’t get in that fix again. Hard stools will cause hemorrhoids and bleeding. I am a RN. Hope this helps.

Dr Charles Porter (The Milk Diet) says the following re hard stools: Too little milk will cause constipation, and then the amount must be increased. I have seen cases where a variation in the daily amount taken, of two glasses, would make the difference between constipation and diarrhea.”
Translation: Too much milk = diarrhea; too little milk = constipation

I had the same problem. Very interesting, Katrina! Thanks for posting that.
