In this nuts and bolts video, I show you exactly how I swallow cod liver oil and high vitamin butter oil every day! Â My kids take it the very same way.
That’s right. Â I’m slugging it down for the whole wide world to see.
You now have no excuse. Â This is how to get those critical nutrients A, D, and K2 every single day – quickly and painlessly. Â You won’t get enough any other way more unless you eat pretty close to perfect and eat liver 2-3 times a week (who does?) so get a grip and start taking it already! Â Ok?
If you have a child too young to take cod liver oil by spoon, you can always try the bottoms-up approach. This works very well for diapered children.

How to Swallow Cod Liver Oil without Gagging
In the video below, I demonstrate exactly how to get cod liver oil down without gagging. This is the easy process I’ve used for years in our home and it works great for toddlers and adults alike.
Ideally, cod liver oil should be taken with butter oil for maximum benefit. You can get butter oil and cod liver oil from the best manufacturers here.
Once you have established this healthful daily habit, you will be shocked to notice colds and flus slowly disappear from your household. In fact, my oldest is almost 18 years old and no antibiotics have been used during his entire childhood or that of his two younger siblings. Yes, it is possible to raise children with zero antibiotics. Â I’ve done it three times and learning to swallow cod liver oil so it isn’t a big drama every single day is a big reason why.

I drink raw milk afterwards. I love it that way!

Sarah, can you clarify how much cod liver oil you’re taking a day? One video shows about 1/2 tsp of CLO and 1/2 tsp skate liver oil, another video you say you need a little over 1 teaspoon a day of CLO. Thanks.

My daughter (11 mths) has a diary allergy, if she or I eat even the slightest bit of dairy it affects her. Does butter oil have the same affect on someone with a dairy allergy? I cannot have dairy either due to the inflammation issues it causes in me. Should I avoid it still?

The first time I bought FCLO and BO I bought it in capsule form. I had actually been meaning to buy it for some time, but had been put off by the price. However, when I found out my son had a bad cavity, I knew it was time to bite the bullet and purchase some! I bought the capsules because this particular child is the fussiest eater I have ever met (my other two kids aren’t so bad… possibly why they don’t have cavities and he does!). Well he doesn’t mind the BO capsules, but has a hard time even swallowing the FCLO ones (he takes them with a glass of milk and even then acts like it’s killing him). Because the BO capsules don’t bother him, I’ve decided to purchase the BO in non capsule form, and keep giving him the FCLO capsules (while purchasing the liquid for the rest of us). I must admit I’m a bit nervous about trying the liquid FCLO when it arrives as even I have to hold my breath while swallowing the capsules because you can still smell/taste it through them!! Over here in Australia it’s even more expensive to purchase the Green Pastures brand, unfortunately, so it’s quite an expensive investment in our health, but I do feel that it will be worth it. If I can heal my son’s cavity (which is quite bad… stupid me didn’t even know how to recognise a cavity as I’ve never had one myself!!) then that’s even better! He actually has an appointment with the dentist to get it filled, but I’m hoping that I can resolve the issue naturally before that comes to pass!

Thank you so much for this tip. I had been taking the capsules & switched to the oil for economic reasons. I was so afraid to take that first spoonful, but your tip worked perfectly. I didn’t taste a thing.

My kids and I take the fermented cod liver oil/butter oil combo. The way I do it is I use a syringe (obviously without a needle), suck up the appropriate amount, and then once the syringe has the Cod Liver Oil in it I shoot it in the back of their mouths and then they chase it with water. My son actually likes it and swishes it in his mouth. Yuck! Anyway, thought I’d tell everyone my method. 🙂 My son is 4 1/2 and my daughter is 2 1/2, in case anyone was wondering.

Hi Sarah,
I’m just starting to learn about Dr. Price’s research. Thank you so much for all the helpful information you have shared. I checked out the Green Pasture website and I’m only able to find Butter Oil as capsules or a blend with cod liver oil & gelatin. I prefer getting them separate as oils. Do you recommend another source where i can get the butter oil separate and not in capsules?
Sarah
On the cost of capsules vs liquid, my math comes out that the capsules are cheaper per serving. The CLO/BO blend caps are $39 (bulk-6 ct) for 60 servings, so $.65/serving. The CLO liquid is $39 (bulk-6 ct) for 118 servings, so $.33/serving + the BO liquid is $55 for 96 servings, so $.57/serving = $.90/serving for both. Are the servings not equal or something? I definitely want the best value!

thanks, got mine in the mail today and came to watch this to build up my courage 😉

I was really scared about trying the liquid oil! But after finding out that it would be so much cheaper i decided I had to try it. I have the arctic mint flavor and using this method it was not nearly as bad as i thought it would be! It went down and the mint flavor helps cover the fish (which if you hold your breath and chug down water after isn’t even that strong). Thanks!
