In this nuts and bolts video, I show you exactly how I swallow cod liver oil and high vitamin butter oil every day! Â My kids take it the very same way.
That’s right. Â I’m slugging it down for the whole wide world to see.
You now have no excuse. Â This is how to get those critical nutrients A, D, and K2 every single day – quickly and painlessly. Â You won’t get enough any other way more unless you eat pretty close to perfect and eat liver 2-3 times a week (who does?) so get a grip and start taking it already! Â Ok?
If you have a child too young to take cod liver oil by spoon, you can always try the bottoms-up approach. This works very well for diapered children.

How to Swallow Cod Liver Oil without Gagging
In the video below, I demonstrate exactly how to get cod liver oil down without gagging. This is the easy process I’ve used for years in our home and it works great for toddlers and adults alike.
Ideally, cod liver oil should be taken with butter oil for maximum benefit. You can get butter oil and cod liver oil from the best manufacturers here.
Once you have established this healthful daily habit, you will be shocked to notice colds and flus slowly disappear from your household. In fact, my oldest is almost 18 years old and no antibiotics have been used during his entire childhood or that of his two younger siblings. Yes, it is possible to raise children with zero antibiotics. Â I’ve done it three times and learning to swallow cod liver oil so it isn’t a big drama every single day is a big reason why.

Sarah, I like your method. However, I do eat liver several times a week. But I make it into a pate, with so much pastured butter you can hardly taste the liver.

Thanks! I finally have it (CLO) but it is hard to get my 3 y.o. to take it. She does like capsules though, I may have to get that for her and my husband, they REALLY don’t like the oil.
Marta
Yes, that’s how I take it and have no problems. For my son I used to mix it with apple sauce, but he got bored with it, so started demanding he takes it from the spoon at 2.5yo (with a bit of honey), followed by some diluted juice. He does it know with no questions because it became part of the family routine. Today I gave a serving to daddy first and he protested that he needs his dose! I was so proud! It was easier than I thought.
I was also wondering if I need to refrigerate the oil. I do now, but it always turns into a mash and with some bottles, like cinnamon triangle, it’s hard to get it all out.

How to you feel about the capsu’les instead of the liquid? That would be difficult for my kids 🙂 Thanks!! 🙂

How would taking just the oil compare to eating actual cod liver in oil? Because my kids love cod liver and will eat that with pleasure.

Hi Sarah! You keep the butter oil in the fridge and NOT the liver oils? Just wanted to clarify, b/c that would simplify things for me 🙂 Thanks!!
Trevor
Hello,
I take the butter oil/ fclo blend and store it in the fridge where it stays solid. To take it, I simply dollop a serving size into a small, and filled glass of kefir or raw milk. It floats on the top and as long as the small glass is full of liquid it slides right out and doesn’t stick to the inside edge of the glass. No taste, right down the hatch!

Maybe this will keep us from throwing away the chocolate flavored stuff we thought was going to be in capsules! Yucky!
Erin
Totally agree on the chocolate! My 3 kids all gagged and so did my husband and me. The cinnamon one is great and all we burp up is cinnamon. After watching this though I went and chugged a spoonful of the chocolate so it doesn’t go to waste…. oh the pudding texture was not easy to just swallow though as my reflexes wanted to chew it up. Maybe I will try freezing tiny amounts of it and taking them like “pills”. I’d like to put it into capsules but it’s so thick, will it even work?

I gulp it down with raw milk:) my son & husband don’t like the texture of the butter so I wonder whether you could firstly liquidize it? Any ideas on that? Also how much would you give to a 4 yr old kid? Thanx a lot!
